Just overhauled the front disc caliper ('73 Roadster) and there is a stainless steel piece mounted on the outside of the caliper that I'm not sure about.
I don't see it in the part manual, or in any pictures posted for calipers.
Anyone have any clues? I buggered up the screws and trying to figure out whether it does anything worthwhile. It looks like it may have been intended to keep debris from getting picked up between the disk and the caliper, but I haven't heard of this being an issue before.
