Cylinder reclaim

If you've ever been to a shop with a good reputation for doing good work,
and seen all the cr*p jobs they get brought in to them to get put right,
you'd KNOW that not many will go out of business from this !

A lot of car places can't even bore motorcycle cylinders right,
since car engine blocks are done from the top down, and motorcycles from the bottom up.

Beware the shop that has just bought a boring bar,
and is looking for suckers err customers to try it out on...

Just look at all the questions on forums for

'what fit should cylinders be sleeved to ?'
or 'what clearance should the pistons be fitted to'.
or 'my engine has seized or nipped up, whats wrong'.
or 'my engine is smoking like a banshee, whats wrong'.

That already spells Trouble with a Capital T.....

What I am looking for is someone, or the process for, welding cast iron cylinder fins back on,
and not having them go brittle as anything.

Someone here could do it, but I didn't pay close enough attention to the exact process to unbrittle the fins,
and he has since retired from that line of work.

As we all know, successfully welding cast iron requires red heat, and it is brittle as when it cools out.
Some chemical/heating process can reverse this..
