Hi
Does anyone know where I can get replacement glass for my 961 tacho bezel ? Mines is cracked and letting water in and since I live in Scotland and it rains every day I kinda need to fix that 😅

If it’s plexiglass or whatever, buy a sheet of it. Then, if you can remove the original, use it as a template to cut a new one. If it’s glass, either do the same with a sheet of glass, or take it to a glazier to cut you one. In either case, you might need to remove it first to measure the thickness you need (unless someone else can supply better info). However, if it’s a newish one under warranty, dealer can sort it, if (you can convince them) it’s vibration related damage.

There should be speedometer repair shops in the UK that can remove and glue on a new face glass and bezel. Because this instrument is essentially all plastic , any repair will require bonding with an appropriate adhesive which they will have . Same goes for the lens . Some shops may try to stay away from it , but don’t give up someone there can fix this. Try asking Stu Bodycote for advice , he’s probably had to fix several.

Have a look on Ebay, there are vendors who will make you a disc to your own requirements. However I think they are slighty convex, so it may look odd with one flat and one not.

Thanks guys
I did try a piece of glass I bought on eBay but the original is convex and a flat piece doesn’t work ! I might try fill the gap between the glass and the bezel with a rubber gasket of some sort that should be ok for now 👍

I have had another look online and found a replacement by vintageautometer , I have ordered one so I will fit it next week and post an update incase anyone else runs into this problem.

I am not sure how to upload pics here ? But it’s fitted and turned out fine , only difference is that it’s single skin glass instead of plastic so I will see how long it last this time .

You cannot directly upload pictures unless you are a Full (paying) member. You can however, load pictures on Google drive (for example) and post link to them in your posts.

Anyway, glad you got it fixed. what did you use to attach it?
