New gauge glass and bezel

Had a cracked glass in one of the gauges. Caught a good sale on the bezel kit from Waldridge and tackled the job myself. Worried the old bezel off with a fine flatblade screwdriver. It broke into pieces as I pried it off, going around the perimeter of the gauge case several times trying not to damage anything I wasn't replacing. The kit came with one new gasket, but there appeared to be two, so I peeled the sticky one off and reused it. I used a visegrip and a thin piece of wood to crimp the new bezel on, again being careful to go around the perimeter several times, crimping a bit at a time. No marks on the face side of the bezel thanks to the wood and nothing that can be seen on the other side once the gauge is bolted back into it's case. This is a job anyone can do themselves if they're careful and don't need the gauge itself rebuilt.

Am getting the Kit included in my Walridge x-mas order too. I've seen the proper tool for doing the job and it is basically a can opener with a roller instead of a cutter wheel. The glass is very thin , just thinking about it cracking can cause a crack to occur.

I had a couple of gauge glasses made for me by a local glazing shop. Cost $1 each. They're just window glass but I guess they could do them in laminated glass if required.

That's why I took my time and made sure there was a gasket on either side of the glass. If you lay the assembly on a piece of thin wood, rotate the whole thing as you go and adjust the vice grip slightly tighter each time you make a lap, all the pressure is on the metal bezel. Patience!

The glass is thinner than most window glass. One source is cheapo Walmart or K-Mart picture frames.
