I've accidentally left a box of mikuni VMs where it could get wet and the carbs are badly corroded
I've had them soaking in white vinegar for around a week
And in my ultrasonic cleaner also in white vinegar
Does anyone know any way better than this?
I've managed to get the slide out of one of them so may be recoverable as long as I can clear out the internal passages

Pine-Sol household cleaner, cut 50% with water. Soak 24 hr, 48 if needed.
I became aware 12 years ago.
Amazing.
Be sure to get the original formula, with pine oil.

Did we cover this before?
And found Dettol was the equivalent in UK?
I really can't remember now

Why was water in your shed/storage area or box of part in the first place or did you have a leaking workshop???

No I've got a bit of roof between my garage and my shed
There's no front to it, I've got some frames hanging up in there that are fine
I have 3 mikuni VMs and a couple of CVs Plus a couple of other bits in large plastic box
And I'd put another box of junk that I couldn't decide what to do with on top of the carbs
Then forgot they were there and stuck it outside in storage
But the amount of rain this year had blown in there
Unfortunately the box didn't have any holes so they were sitting in water for months
