While I've got the bike apart to replace gearbox bearings and do some engine work, I would like to upgrade to a cotter pin located swingarm spindle. Bike is a 72 750cc.

Is this the one I want?

Norman White's book quotes a different part number, 06-4060.

Cheers

Yes I'd say that is the one you want
But on a separate note it's really not hard to upgrade a standard one to MK3 cotter pin arrangement
Or fit the Kegler clamps etc
Or even upgrade to taper rollers although the taper rollers don't seem to be done anymore

Yes.

That's the ordinary non-cottered cradle.

The Kegler clamps will function just as well and be a lot cheaper. As the bike is apart it makes installing them a lot easier too.

The split collar clamps will be better than that antiquated modification from the 1970's and cost pennies compared to it.

Full circumference rings or cotter pins on one side of a thin wall tube.

Correct Gearbox Cradle ?

Just wondering. With the Kegler type clamps, will oil leak out past the bolts that secure the spindle from the clamps?
Maybe some loctite on them would help if they do leak.

Don't drill the holes
Just tighten the centre bolt until it indents the tube

No.
A little sealer around the holes in the cradle tube before fitting the rear clamp half would stop that even if it was possible.
If the correct 1-1/8" ID clamps are used (I made my own being cheap) any leak would more likely be out at the bronze bushes. (O-ring locations)

Kegler it is then, glad I asked, the money saved can now be diverted to another folly.

Cheers all and thanks for the responses
