I respectfully disagree....This is a Norton forum.

I'm sure that there are other Brit bike websites/forums that cater to Triumphs, Vincents, Velos etc.

Should this site should be renamed to "Access Brit Bike"? I enjoy all types of motorcycles and am a member of SOHC4 forum for old Honda discussions and info regarding the three 70's era four cylinder CBs that I own. I don't expect to see Nortons over on that site. I also belong to Stromtroopers.com for my Suzuki V-Strom.

Just my opinion......

As with all good democracies, let the voters decide. Come one come all, as long as it does not effect the "Norton Commando Motorcycles" forum.

Please, lets keep the "Commando" part of this website "Commando" and let the "Other Classic Motorcycle" area take care of the rest.

Let's quit putting Jerry on the spot. Any personal issues should be kept personal. PM away, Jose'. This is a lesson I still struggle with, but I am improving. HEY, how about a most improved behavior contest. There are MANY contenders for this prize.

But, Aco - what about my British non-thundering Healey Squariel, or Silk 700S or Pharoah 750/4... [ yeah right , as if...]

It's Jerry's site and he let's us all use it. So it's for him to decide. If your worried about some other Brit bikes being in this contest, then your Norton probably wasn't gonna win anyway.

It is my ambition to race my Seeley Commando against 1970s and 1980s aircooled Ducatis. They are the same sort of rubbish, with the same problems.

How about letting the guy who runs the forum do it his way?

"For those new members who have not seen or entered the contest before, this is an annual vote we do for the "Most Improved" bike. This does not mean the best bike. This means voting on before and after photos and rebuilt descriptions that have been sent to and posted by me. Normally I have only allowed Norton Commando's in the contest. This time for a change will allow any BRITISH pre 1980 classic motorcycle."

This has already been decided - by Jerry!
why is it even a topic of discussion.

Show your preference with your vote!

Come on Bill, hes a VIP member so hes an expert after all - I'm hopeful poor Will can correct his cluster F courtesy of BABs/GP - that would truly be a feat and worthy of most improved-

IMHO people like GP should NOT!!!! be in this as he is a so called professional restorer . it this allowed than let mat at CNW enter some of his work also. when is this self promoting GP going to have the brakes put on him!!!!!

I'll spot you a few bucks so you can get a VIP membership Mike. Doesn't seem right drinking all this champagne in the green room without you.

+1 I'm sure there are other Forums out there to promote "best builds" of other pedigrees other than OUR site. Just sayin'....

Haha
nice, thx Snorton - but i don't know enough to be a vip unless its denoted as a very incompetent person,

i'll just have to settle on IPA's in the garage, busting more knuckles on old crap, and poking fun at all (including myself)

oh and by the way i am very familiar w/ Oregon - have family outside of crater and in Portland , Rogue brewery rulz, love those roads up there -

to all:

The reason I opened the contest up to other classics is that we don't get many entries and I thought it would be interesting. Based upon this feedback I might do just Norton next year. Check it out; there is a forum called "other classic bike" too, we don't get that much going on there, but it is there. Sometimes you sound like a bunch of old women :)

Anyway contest is under way and they are nearly all Norton's so far - you are too late to judge if Norton or not. I asked your opinions before and that was the right time to let me know, not now. You will be able to vote for what you want as usual. One thing I will remind you is that things need to remain polite around here and I detect this thread going south so I am locking it now...

I want to take a moment to thank all VIP members who signed up and are helping pay for the server. It is still not enough to cover server costs - LES and I still do this as we love the bikes and it takes much more of our time than you might imagine...

Jerry
