I think that you're a little late as I think that it has been opened up to all British bikes.
However, I agree that it should be Norton only .....this is a Norton forum isn't it?

My two cents.......

+1

i have a morris minor - will that be OK - it only has 2 tires on it

Clover has really come around this year. Hows bout it?

The contest is already open to English bikes pre-1980, but I imagine the entries will all be at least part-Norton.

An AJS 33 is just an Atlas Scrambler with 'AJS' on the tank. What about Tritons, NorBSAs, NorVins, etc.?

Ah. Don't fret gentlemen. It'll give us a look at what people are up to, and nobody's gonna tell you who to vote for.

Norton only please as this BBS is mainly of a Norton focus.
Perhaps have a most improved "Other" catagory?

JD

How about if we get enough Norton entries for Norton only, otherwise open it up.

You guys aren't scared of a few other Brit bikes are ya? If your Norton's the shit, step up and win, and you can pretend it was 'Norton only' all along. You would think if you're such Norton guys that you wouldn't mind beating a few of the other british marques.

Hey, it looks like I`m ahead in the bengs-own post count ratio contest...better step it up guys, Xmas is coming...L.O.L.

Ahh...My 1975 Honda CB550K1 has British made Avon tires and it's parked right next to my Commando.

Can I enter it?

Only if it is polished up so shiny - as to be featuring the Norton showing predominantly, in its reflected glory - in an artistically presented pose...L.O.L.

I don't think Honda built any bikes in England, and the contest is open only to English bikes.

Honda did build cars in England, beginning in the late '80s. The Rover 825/827 was a Honda (Acura in the US) Legend with Rover body panels, and they sold Civics with Triumph badges on them (Badge engineering, they call it, like the N15/G15/33). Honda had made a deal with the Rover Group (or was it called Jaguar-Rover-Triumph back then?) to assemble Hondas in the UK to get around EU import restrictions.

So, then, -what about Seeley,Rickman,Dunstall,Horton & etc, which have Nippon mills? Or British mills in non-British chassis, like Egli,Magni,Champion & etc?

I say if its got an English engine or frame built before 1980, then it fits the criteria.

I don't see how an Egli-Vincent could be a 'most improved' entrant. Are there any Eglis that have been allowed to deteriorate?

I know a local guy who has a warehouse full of old race bikes, mostly Harris, Seeley, Dresda and Rickman-framed specials from the '60s - '70s. I think they all would qualify, even if they had Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki or Yamaha mills.

Here's his place:

IMHO people like GP should NOT!!!! be in this as he is a so called professional restorer . it this allowed than let mat at CNW enter some of his work also. when is this self promoting GP going to have the brakes put on him!!!!!

Come on Bill, hes a VIP member so hes an expert after all - I'm hopeful poor Will can correct his cluster F courtesy of BABs/GP - that would truly be a feat and worthy of most improved-
