Hi Norton chaps is there a coil I can use that will do away with (replace) the two coils
I have looked on this site but could not find anything relating to this .Thanks

Yes very common 'upgrade'. About any dual fire coil that's resistance is in range for the installed ignition system works. About any major vendor will have them.

Thanks so I need to ask for a dual fire coil, would that be off another bike .
I dont suppose you know what make/model my local Kawasaki dealer would have kittens if I asked for a coil like that .

Not my area of expertise but if you can reveal the type of ignition system even I might be able to help select a coil. About only thing that matters is coil ohm rating compatible with the ignition. 3-5 ohm is the most common for electronic ignition. If points any old dual coil off couple decades span of vintage Japanese twins works fine a long time.

I ran a cheepo chinese harleey coil on my triumph. Worked good. Had a Boyer tho. Would think it would be fine for points. Looked good too. Like a booze flask, and chrome to boot. Chrome makes you go faster you know.

I use a Dyna dual-fire coil purchased from Old Britts. Works great.

The Power Arc dual-fire coil from Old Britts works very well for me. I get a concentrated, crisp, cracking, intense blue spark (too descriptive? :) ) rather than an ugly blue(ish) blast from old 6V coils.

Hi Im useing a Pazzo electronic system .I have found out that some Harleys use a dual fire coil anyone know which model :?:

Thanks for any help :D

If using an electronic ignition, think HD Sportster. Hobot is correct in the 3-5 ohm range...I belive there is a Crane Coil for HD Sporty rated at 3ohms.

Google "dyna coil" Get it any where you like as long as it is 5 ohm. I think it is a DC7-1

as you can see lots of options

i have an accell coil on mine - they make a universal kit for motorcycles - bolts right on works great and its yellow

ACCEL #140403S-2cyl (1 coil kit) Inductive 3.0 ohms -

5ohm if you have an "improved" charging system - but the effect between the 2 is negligible (unless your changing system is piss poor then you have a noticeable effect)

Hello I bought my Boyer twin coil from RGM and am very happy with it, Had to make an alloy mounting plate though.

If you want to go to a Kawasaki dealer, use the same coil I do..it's from a GPZ 550. It works well with the Boyer ignition I have.
