So I have these clubman rearsets that I got used, and am wondering if I am missing a part, or what would be the best way to achieve what I am looking for. I see there is a pin with a locking nut that looks to be the stop for the rear brake pedal, but if the tab on the pedal rests against it, the pedal is too high. The tab has a hole through which I put a screw and a random square brass nut I had, and it works as a temporary solution but still sets the pedal too high. What should go there?

I know nothing about these rearsets, but looking at your picture, your options would appear to be:
1. Bend the tab a little, towards the stop.
2. Fit a longer bolt through the tab so you can adjust it against the stop to the required height.
3. Both of the above!

Something doesn't look right there. I have a set on my '73. I'll try to remember to take a picture this afternoon when I get home from work.

True, the tab will for sure have to be bent, and a visit to the hardware store may come up with a decent solution. Just hoping something better was originally provided when new.

Hmm...looks like I need to do some cleaning;

Looks pretty similair.

For comparison, here's how my pedal is positioned;

However, I have an Interstate tank, so am positioned back further than you.

Built in feature—rust prevention.

At least now I know how to proceed. Thanks to you both for the input.
