Had a great Christmas Day ride in sunny Colorado. Not many out, 5500, 80plus for 60 or 70 miles.
HAPPY CHRISTMAS

Crispy cold. Looks like you had the road to yourself. I'm envious. Roads are too slick around here to get out of my neighborhood.

Had my ride on something other than the Commando.... at least until there's warmer times to be had. Good for you and the courage though.

Cool.

Feels like a dirt bike after the Ultra, right

Yes, it feels nimble. It flies though. I normally ride between 70 and 80, there is plenty more to go on top end. I like the webcam and what Jim did to the head. It stops well, handles well. Very happy with how the 750 turned out. I prefer riding it to my MK3. The most surprising thing today was a group of prong horn deer. I saw about 20 of them running in a field. Same direction as me. They were running at about 40 mph. I had no idea they were so fast.

It rained here in Stockton today. I don’t venture out unless the weather is reasonable. At my age I don’t need to make excuses for fair weather riding. Did enough trips in rain and snow decades ago.
Jerry,
Good for you getting out in winter. I have not payed attention. How long ago did you emmigrate from SOCAL to Aurora? I have an aunt and cousin living there.

X-mas all social distanced , declined a dinner outside of home. Sad, until gifts. Lockdown now. Went outside and walked in park , then wiped 5 cms. of snow off the Norton's cover. Nice meal with my wife of Prime rib , Brussels sprouts and mashed with gravy though , with Spanish red of course. Spinning old records too.

It was 32F coming home from midnight mass so the idea of wet roads and those temps on the bike was a 'forget it'.
Add in the sound of the salt bouncing off the car. Made it from Exeter to Looe and saw only ONE car on the entire
journey home! Hard to believe.
Don't have an oily rag bike but I should.
Happy Christmas to all.

Now that is one clean Norton! Really nice! One detail; didn´t think you had a front fender at first, but it´s there, I really like how tight you´ve got it to the wheel.

Aha!! The: 'Winter hack'.... Will admit I've been drawn to the idea as my reliance on four wheels gets less and less. There's an NVT175 out there but too far and maybe too pricey, another BSA unit single perhaps?
Decisions.. decisions :)

I spent an hour on the 24th in cold air dissembling a mk3 swingarm from cradle ready to sell to Norton owner here in UK who is doing a rebuild. Luckily, following Oldbritts method, welch plug on RHS came out easily, felts were dry, but then tapped spindle out through LHS, taking other plug with it, and it still had light oil film, so no stiction and very good fit in bushes.

Looks like it was a memorable day, envious! Boxing Day where I am at is usually a very circuitous country route to the Plough at Plumpton to join an eclectic mix of classic bike enthusiasts in the pub car park. Not this year as we are essentially in lockdown. Let’s hope 2021 is better, I suspect we are looking at 2022 before anything approaching normalcy returns. Stay safe stay healthy y’all.

Last summer my old lady asked me how long this virus stuff would go on for and I told her 3 years. She laughed. She isn't laughing any more.
At least the roads are now fairly empty of numpties and although the town is starving because of the lack of incomers short term I've grown to like things as they are now!
....later, well let us not think about that.

Perfect day here for the VMCC Boxing Day run and meet up. No rain for two days so dry roads and it's not cold.

.....ruined by Covid. Thanks a bunch China.

Hi David, we moved top Colorado in 2018...

Thanks. I am thinking about selling this Norton to fund my new BSA project in case anyone is interested.

Re-read post #5. Don't let it join the list of: 'Vehicles I should never have sold' which we ALL have :) (Been there, done that!)
Not until you've slept on it at least.....
Ultimately your call, though...
