I was going to replace a standard 850 cam with a Web Cam 312...I noticed a lot of difference in the width of the lobes themselves....the 850 original widths vary from .55 to .60 . while the Web is .43 to .48 and they don't seem to be on the same center lines when put side by side?...any thoughts on this...would this narrower lobe tend to wear on the followers causing a groove eventually?.....

Earlier cams used narrow lobes. Later model cams had wider lobes but they were no different as far as the area which actually contacts the lifter -so no, the narrow lobe is not a deficit. Jim
