BSA 441 points oil seal.

I'm getting a little oil into the points cavity on my 1968 Shooting Star, it's been 30 years since I had one all apart & can't remember, can that oil seal be removed & replaced just by taking the " Outer" cover off & the advance mechanism or does the " inner " cover need to come off too?? Retimed/ tuned & it's starting easy again but to much oil getting in the points. Thanks, Glenn.

The Inner cover doesn't have to come off.
Once you get the advance unit off, the seal can be pulled out and replaced.
