Suppose I'd better start taking the key out of it at bikes meets if they are fetching that sort on money.

as for £14K for a JP Replica... maybe I should dress up my MkIIA?
Are any of the JP specific parts unavailable?
A friend of mine had to turn one down at £1K some years ago because he couldn't afford it.

The steel tank under the fiberglass JPN replica stuff is like an elongated roadster tank - in steel, as mentioned.
Pure unobtainium.
Although a good metal man could probably stretch out a roadster tank.
Or send one to India for copying

Someone good could probably make up a tank to look like the JPN cover thingy-one, with a half-decent capacity even.
More weight....

Anyone know the part no for the stretched JPN replica tank ?

My MK3 that I bought brand new in Denver in 1975 dropped a valve (stuck in the guide) at 4500mi. That started years and years of piddley and not so piddley shit that I painstakenly fixed and repaired on that former POS. That I still have it and the fact that now it is a super dependible ride, I give myself full credit for. Don't believe I'd want to start over with another one just now any more than I'd like to get a young dumb puppy at present.

I'm sure it will considering people in some places are asking this much for used or restored ones, check Australia. the seller has some other interesting bikes as well.

That Roadster is quite an early one. It's got the curved rear brake pedal. I'd like to see it, just to go rivet-counting. :) I wonder if it's got a 1974 build date on the headstock plate and that is where he has his info from ?

I have to say he's got some nice stuff for sale - who could turn down an NVT Rambler?!

It would be good to get the whole story on these bikes. The white'n'stripes one is identical to one which lingered unsold at the local dealer in Leyland, T&D Motorcycles. It was languishing until the early '80s, but never sold AFAIK.
I don't know what happened to it - perhaps it's the same bike?

I always though it looked great, and thought it sad that it represented the last dinosaur in the extinction programme.

Jubilee Bonnie - Hmmmm

Anyone else noticed that the decals on the brand new '74 JPS paint bike are not parralel to the ground? a fact that had caused plenty discussion in other threads hereabouts.

wow reserve not met at 10K and the john player is over 10 already. He also has two 961's listed as well

It will be interesting if they are purchased and registered in the UK, then the provenance will come clean - might be why he is offering overseas shipping. As a recent Norton owner here in the UK has just found out with a discrepancy in the engine number of his bike whilst conducting a MOT, despite it being MOT'd every year. A trip to local DVLA office followed and new V5 issued - the catch, with an age related number!! If it is a re-import without paperwork, could be a mare to register.

Someone bid £17K and withdrew it for the JPS. The good thing for sellers is not having to display the results of the any questions asked!
