Best open face helmet and goggles combination for spectacle wearers?

Any modern full-face helmet that's worth a crap has specific eyeglass ports. If you need more breeze, get a modular.

By ‘eyeglass ports’ do you mean vents ?

And what do you mean by ’a modular’ ?

Ports = grooves in the inner padding to accommodate glasses.

Modular = the category of full face flip up chin bar lids.
Got it!

Dunno if it’s my head shape or choice of glasses, but I seem to find it hard to find lids that comfortably accommodate my glasses. The last Shoei full face I bought, I had to trim away the padding.

But I have tried a ‘modular’ this time and that is MUCH better for glasses.

When did you buy that last shoei full face?

When did you buy that last shoei full face?
That’s a good question, it’s a GT Air and I think it would have been 4 years ago.

But when it comes to me estimating time, that could really be anywhere between 4 months and 4 decades !

I think Shoei helmets come with layered liner padding that can be adjusted for thickness if you need a little room one spot or another.

Yes they do and it’s a very good point.

The recent two I bought were from an excellent specialist who really knew their sh*t and had stocks of said pads etc.

I did not enjoy the same experience the previous time.

It definitely pays to buy from a good source, and to do so in person, even if it might cost a bit more.

Tough to get a good fit unless you're buying in person. I'm on the cusp of medium/large in helmets. so a little variance in fit can make a huge difference. I'm on my 2nd Schuberth C3 and a German helmet seems to fit my German head. Arai has a few different shaped shells. Had Shoei's for years. I do have one open-face helmet, an AGV Ago replica. OK for sub-45 mph rides. Any faster and I feel naked wearing it.

Agreed it definitely pays to get fitted out properly for a lid. I’m on the same cusp BTW !

I worry that if I fall off my bike, somebody might try to remove my full face helmet without first removing my glasses through the front.
