Looking at one from a '68 650. Definitely worth picking up, for me, if it's the same part..

Anyone know for sure?

Burman gearboxes and internals changed little in this time frame to 75 and that's about as deep as I can go on this one. Anyone else ?

Excellent stuff, Tim. I went ahead and bought the part. Thanks!

Also thanks for the Atlas parts list. That may come in handy again!

Not a Burman box. It's AMC since about 1956-7.

You may find the hole for the spring is drilled in the wrong location. Some of the older AMC boxes used a different spring. Not sure about the Atlas. The kickstart shaft that I bought from Andover for my 850 was drilled in both locations. I bought the new part because the old one was cracked at that V notch. Common failure, easy to overlook. Be sure to check your used one carefully.

Thanks debby. I noted those same things in both of mine. My used one was cracked as you mention and my NOS one ($160--OUCH!!) had two spring holes.

I will definitely inspect this one closely before calling it good. Figured it was a reasonable $45 gamble nonetheless!

It will fit. Might be a bit shorter and may not clear the C-do exhaust as well though. I went the other way and installed a Commando lever on my 61 Dominator and it was a direct swap.

Good point. I'll suggest my dad use it for his Norton/Triumph hybrid when he rebuilds his transmission since he's using tuck-ins for his exhaust.

Thanks!
