A sharp look at the Andover cataloque might help: KICKSTART SHAFT & BUSH 04.0477 - the 850 MkIII part actually still carries the number from the old numbering system. To be extra sure you could cross check with the 1963-1968 spare parts catalogue which shows that the part is identical.
You may find the hole for the spring is drilled in the wrong location. Some of the older AMC boxes used a different spring. Not sure about the Atlas. The kickstart shaft that I bought from Andover for my 850 was drilled in both locations. I bought the new part because the old one was cracked at that V notch. Common failure, easy to overlook. Be sure to check your used one carefully.
It will fit. Might be a bit shorter and may not clear the C-do exhaust as well though. I went the other way and installed a Commando lever on my 61 Dominator and it was a direct swap.
