Anybody going to the Manx GP ?

the Manx official website posts a brief report of top 3/4 finishers after Saturday races, but no table of finishers anywhere to be found??!! I have emailed them but no reply so far...

Good question. They started fiddling with the rules when they introduced the "Classic TT" but then last year abandoned that idea and reduced the number of days racing to essentially two and a half. No idea how some of the bikes qualify as classics. The Patons are effectively brand new bikes. I know the owner of the Manx that won the classic senior race and the engine is around 20 years old, not an original Manx admittedly but not brand new.
The classic superbikes are lapping only about 5mph slower than the superbikes at the TT. There used to be a few Commandos and Tridents in it but pointless entering on one now.
As for the Manx GP. There are several ex TT winners entered including Michael Dunlop who has won over 20 TT's. It is very hard to understand why.
I personally think the MGP's future is very shaky. It's pretty expensive to get to the Isle of Man and now the racing is just over the Bank Holiday weekend you could come here and there be bad weather so end up seeing nothing. For us it's a pale shadow of its former self and are wondering if we will come next year.

Jan, you need to go to the MGP website and sign up & login for the live timings.

The top box is 'Schedule & Results'. From 'Race Days' it will default to the current (today's racing), so flick back to Saturday (there are only two race day's now since the weather knocked out Friday).

It developed a misfire on lap two but he still managed to finish 3rd. He is a very good rider, Mike Browne, but the bike is amazing. I have an ES2 and can't see how on earth you could make one do 150mph.
 
I did my first of ten Manx in 1968, back then you couldn’t do a Manx if you were over forty, had won a Manx or ridden in the TT except the Production race. All changed with the Classic Manx/ Classic TT, it was reputed that McG was on £20k. Anyway fast forward thirty odd years and I marshalled at several MGPs to put something back but when it cost me over £500 to marshal at one I called it a day. With less than 50 starters and only 16 finishers in the Classic Senior this year I doubt I will change my mind.

In the restaurant last evening there were 3 Americans on the table next to us. I enquired if they came from Oregon. They were not. My reason for asking amused them though.
