Interesting. I'm not an early adopter, so I'd want to see some favorable user reports before considering a purchase. And after reading that other thread I'd want to see the advance curve, too.

And a good price! Main improvement I see is no more exposed coils and solder joints to break. I still stuff a rag under points cover to keeps wires from breaking! :x
 
Looks good, Would be nice to know all of it's features. The price is what strikes me as odd, Less than half the price of the ones I installed. Although I am very happy with my system it is always nice to see new products come around. So who's going to buy one so it can be tested? :wink:

Did you realize the price was in Sterling? That makes it about 108 USD. Still pretty reasonable.

It looks like a solid unit but still doesn't seem like it addresses the issue of vibrational stress on the trigger wires in a Commando. This unit might even be more problematic if the wires break right at the junction with the epoxy. It would be impossible to repair no? What do others think about this issue?
 
Those two wires entering the epoxy concerned me too! Back to stuffing a rag in the point cover! I have a Sparks unit I drilled out and installed the bolt on terminals and only worry about the plates coil wires breaking. So my recommendation for these folk is a post terminal with no wires exposed.
 
The actual manufacturer of this part is unknown; there is nowhere to go for specs. Debby is right, the minimum information we should require before handing over 100 bucks is the advance curve.
 
I did see that it was, The Tri-spark is well over twice the price. I myself still think the Tri-Spark is a bargain as it works so nice, I wonder how do you guys think the best way would be to exit the unit wires? The zip-tie would seem to me to hold the wires from breaking at that point, I really don't know myself because I have not encountered these problems before. The important thing in my thinking would be to have plenty of slack in the wires before they leave the points cavity. Any other thoughts? But it does look like a nice product.
 
Wires can be secured by a dab of clear RTV; in spite of its name (Room Temperature Vulcanization), it continues to hold up at temperatures above 150C. Hard to believe, but I use the stuff to seal the exhause pipe of my Beezer to the head; still in place doing its job after two years.
 
Likewise, I use RTV sealant in the exit hole to support the wires and have no signs of problems after 15 years of using the same Boyer. I reckon it will need replacing in the future as it can,t surely live forever.
 
Having just looked at the item, I think an ignition system made in in Czech Repulic has been coverd before in past threads. If I remember rightly it was quite pricy but could be self programmed to suit your needs - I wonder if it is the same manufacturer making a bog standard road going no frills version. Looking at the pictures it seems well thought out, and made. As for other versions I'm still not quite convinced about putting all the electronics in the stator housing with all that heat, but then again I'm only a pneumatic and hydraulic engineer by trade.
