I have no reason to complain but hmmm some palace you have there!

When I was at uni I kept the bike in the dorm room on the third floor. That went well enough until I drove
it down the hallway at 1 am in the party mode.
End of parking in the dorm room.
Youth is a wonderful thing....
...but did you do a BURNOUT in the hall?

A little off the subject.I remember my 1971 750 had the famous layshaft lock up. I had the 21 tooth sprocket with 20,000 on the clock. It happened in town at 25 mph. Grabbing the clutch did absolutely nothing. Now I know what a rear wheel lock up feels like. From then on all my commandos got the bearing change .

That’s what I’m talking about

I had this intermittent squeel from g/box and on stripping found all bearings apart from the layshaft were shagged !!!! probably because of years of abusive overrun. But was told that earlier Norton boxes in fact had roller bearing l/s and it was changed as a cost cutting exercise. Do not know whether this was true or not ,info was from a good source.M ick Hemmings used to offer a high capacity ball bearing for this application which gave the benefit of positive layshaft location, butin the end opted for the roller.

BTW the bearing doesnt usually just go with no warning. There is the flapping kick start , immediately before hand . Stop!!!!!!!

If you live in an art studio, why not just display it as art???
