Finally after a 32 year sleep i have finally restored the Commando. It was an 18 month ground up restoration done with very few days missed while working on it. It started life as an SS that looked anything but an SS when i bought it in 1984. I parked it in 1986 with the warning light on thinking it was an oil light. Little did i know. No internet or knowledgeable people to tell me otherwise! I restored it as a roadster just because i think it looks better. It's going to be a daily rider, i didn't restore it to sell or hide in the garage. At this moment in time, due to the coronavirus pandemic I'm still waiting for my saddle from Corbin.

Very well done Sir
I'm not far behind you Nickleectron, my basket case (or better known as Heinz) started life as an Interpol, but has been reincarnated as a Roadster.
I hope to have first fire up minus tank before the end of this week:)

32 years seems to be popular. Took me 31, wished I'd done it a lot sooner.

Lots of opportunity still to find a low mileage Commando. My ‘69 sat since 1976 and seems to have around 10,000 miles. Getting close to firing it up.

I can't seem to get photobucket to work yet... be patient, I'm not smart enough to know i can't do something!
