A great feeling

Grace Slick once stated that no-one over the age of 40 should be onstage performing rock music. I tend to agree with her (even though she later violated her own "rule"). I'd rather watch videos of, say, the Rolling Stones in 1965 as opposed to seeing them doing their current act as a Rolling Stones cover band. Though I do admire Mick's ability to hop around at his age. ;)

IMO, the only better feeling is when the mailman shows up with a box of used, good condition original or NOS parts.
I don't get too excited about new repop parts anymore, regardless of who they come from.

Speak for yourselves on the relive part because I'm still in my prime. Just getting hard lugging this 66 year old transport system about, but I can still push it up on my bike & kick it over....just takes slightly more time to accomplish.

Well I was definitely pumped when the truck stopped out front with my new alloy wheels etc. from Madass , that was a big day for me and the Norton , even if not standard parts , the DT head steady was also a very pleasant addition , that arrived via truck .....

My days of receiving lots of parts from various delivery trucks might well be behind me; maybe still the odd bit by U.S. Postal Svc.

The "up" side to this is, the closer I've gotten to the top of the heap (what's left of my collection), the less they need!

Also, I've finally been able to make real, noticeable progress on a thorough shop de-cluttering, organizing and cleanup. It's made a huge difference, no need to squirm between boxes and stacks of stuff, and I only need to move maybe 1 bike out of the way to get to any number of others.

Now that I have a monster set of Cerwin-Vega speakers (the ones that were designed to pump out the bass required for the movie "earthquake"), and a very nice classic but almost new Marantz amp, I can plug in my .mp3 player or iphone and enjoy NICE tunes!

Paul ... you just got to find a “Dual” turntable for that nice amp and speaker setup .... what is mp3 ? Thought that was for games ..

Still have my big old Pioneer DD & Stanton 681 EEES cartridge, Sony receiver, & Kenwood AS speakers laying about, but no longer use them. Akai R-R died so wifey tossed tapes & vinyl....not worth an argument by the time they were missed.

Vinyl is making a big come back, I have kept all my old records, in my younger days my friend work in her parents music store and every week I brought a new record, I still have the price tags still on them, albums for $5.99 ah the good old days.
