961 Starter Motor

Hi, I’m having problems with my starter.
I have the cootes solenoid kit but not the manual for installation. It’s not in the resource section. It’s listed on the CNW site which I have ordered but nothing has happened since.
Has anyone got a copy of the Starter Solenoid 961 manual.

I got it from Richard Coote some time ago and thought I’d uploaded it, but hadn’t. I’ve just done it as “961 starter solenoid fix” and am waiting for @Jerry Doe to approve it.

If you can source a Harley starter thats a better fix. There are numerous part numbers listed here

STARTER MOTOR (same as Buell Blast & Harley Sportster)
Nippon Denso TN128000-8453
Harley 31391-91 (same as Buell Blast)

For anyone wishing to rebuild their own starter there are numerous YouTube videos on the process. I like this one from “Songs from the saddle” as he is also a 961 owner.
