Ok, you know when you go looking and you cant find anything, and then there are times when you find everything? Well when I was looking at the Atlas, I was also looking at a 72 Commando. They guy called me last night and made me a deal I cannot refuse. So as of this weekend, I went from no Nortons to THREE! lol My 66 Atlas, my 72 AJS/Norton Stormer, and now a 72 Commando, in less than a month. Thank God my wife is understanding and supportive.

With that in mind, if anyone wants the Stormer, please send me an email. Its a nice bike, but I need the room for the other two now.

3 in a month. Wow! We all a need a wife like that!
Good luck to you Mike.

Regarding the wife.

I had the CB360 and got that stripped to the frame and rebuilt and used it as a commuter and weekend backroad cruiser. Now I am bored. I run into a guy in town at the gas station that says he has a 1980 Goldwing project bike for sale. Motor turns over and it is in really good shape. $600 later that is in my garage. Now that is done. I get bored again. I have known for about a year about this Norton that has been in a shed for 20 years. (I know what a cliche). I said to my wife, I need another project. She says "As long as you sell one of the.....keep the Goldwing" ( she will ride on that one). I sell the CB in two or three days and pick up the Norton that weekend. I may start looking for a Ural. :D

Once she's ridden on the back of the Norton she'll forget all about the Goldwing.

I once sold a bike and whittled my collection of 8 bikes down to - 10, When 3 more showed up within 2 weeks! This always seems to be the way and despite selling 6 bikes in as many years they continue to breed like rabbits!

Most a decade ago we did a survey on the NOC and BI list and maybe INOA and to a gal they voted the Commando the pillion place of choice. The compared bikes ranged the whole scope of cycle-doom. Uncanny them Commandos.

If you wanted to part with the atlas i know of a nice warm garage for it beside a '66 650SS.

A neighbor just got a Ural with a sidecar. They've improved a bunch since the early ones - telescopic front forks and disk brakes.
