2nd Re-build

Hi All,

just started a full restoration (an ex 850 Interplod):





I originally re-built this bike 28 years ago for my brother-in-law; he loved and cherished it for about a year and it was then abandoned with various bits being pilfered by his local bike expert.

I now have it back for yet another restoration - I will not be parting with it this time, pictures and maybe many questions to follow.....................................

Finished the engine today (19/09/09), spec is:

Ports cleaned and opened up to 32mm.
R&D multi rate valve springs with titanium caps.
Valves fitted with lash caps.
10:1 pistons – 851cc.
3” radius tappets.
Megacycle cam – 560-00 profile.
Carrillo con rods.
Balanced crank – 63%.





Frame powder coated about two years ago - just add one engine and gearbox.........................

THAT PIC IS REALLY MAKIN ME WISH I COULD GET MY WHEELS BACK ON ... AT LEAST

If those are aluminium exhaust lockrings I'd dump them as soon as possible they just aren't strong enough and if you've got aluminium threads in the head they'll gall up.
Go steel or bronze.

This sounds like such a happy ending!
