Has anyone received the Norton 2011 calender?
January's supposedly a 72 combat.
I submitted my bike pic just on a whim they may us it.
I was wondering if it is my canary yellow combat.
I'm ordering a calendar but just can't wait for it to arrive to find out
Thanks,
Marshal

On the N.O.C. calendar as published by the N.O.C.in the UK, the bike in the picture for January is indeed a Combat, but is a silver/grey colo(u)r, owned by a chap called Gary Griffith who lives in Seattle. Sorry to pop your bubble, but it is a very nice bike/ photograph.

Grandpaul, I believe that the bike shown for July 2011 is one of yours, with a lake as the backdrop. Also very nice bike/photograph.

Don Tovey who posts occasionally on the forum has printed them, on behalf of the N.O.C. UK.

I'm looking at the calendar on my wall behind me. Like Reggie said it's a silver grey '72 combat roadster with waist high SS exhaust pictured at the Bonnevilee salt flats. Gary Griffin from Seattle is the owner.

Hmmmmmm...

I'm not a member of the N.O.C., nor was I asked to submit a photo.

Perhaps it was submited by the young lady that bought the bike from me at the Bator auction at Birmingham this past October? I suspect that's the case.

grandpaul, the caption for the picture says, "owner (and builder): Paul Zuniga. I assume that this is you?

I have met SO many Norton owners named Paul Zungia, it could be any one of them.

I was thinking of changing my name to Paul Zungia by deed poll. But if it's that common, I wont bother.

Hi paul,
the photo of your ex bike was sent in to the photo selection lads at the NOC.
It has upside down forks & Tokiko 6 pot calipers on the front end.
There were some cracking photos sent in & a lot of them were commandos.
We had to put a selection of Nortons of all types in the calendar.
Thanks to everyone who submitted a photo.
One lad in California sent in some brilliant pics but I did not have enough info on it to do a write up so it got left out.
We have enough pics left for 2012 now so maybe next year for those not put in for 2011 issue.
Cheers Don Tovey

Hi Marshall,
I'm afraid your bike did not get in the calendar.
I cant take the blame for that as I only did the printing for it.
I notice you have cut out a photo of Vivienne Neeves & put her astried your commando.
I remember having a Norton Calendar years ago with Vivienne on it.
She was a fit looking lass & appeared in The Times newspaper scantilly clad & causing a shock to old the boring people.
Unfortunatly she died in Jan 2003 of multiple sclerosis, such a shame.
Maybe you could send me a pic of your bike with an interesting background & I will send it to the selection committee to look at for 2012.
Cheers Don

Don,
Will do for 2012
Good job Paul on your build making it this year.
Don any old calendar with Vivian lying around still?
Maybe my bike w/ Vivian astride for 2012?
Those old boring folks are now in a nursing home I guess so maybe a death nail for em
He He bad dog no biscuit for me
Marshal
