New versions of cad ??

Unless they are doing it in copy-cad, there are no technical bulletins for any new types of cad plating.
Cad is cad, its a metal....

for some reason I had it in my mind that Cad plating was not so common any more due to danger in processing and to have it done therefore was extremely costly, I have heaps of parts zinc plated, I took about 50kg of parts to my zinc plater down the road on Sat arvo, should get it all back tomorrow, $1/kg.

Cad plating is mandatory on some aircraft parts, so it will never completely go away.
It is relatively expensive though, at the aircraft quality level.
Nowhere near as expensive as show chrome though - since the parts only have to be clean for cad, not highly polished like for chrome.

$1/kg would barely pay for the zinc ??

Finally got a chance to get the frame blasted and tried out my new powdercoating oven. The oven needs some tweaking, but I got the frame done.

Not sure if the commando is the same as a 650ss ,But i fitted a PD big valve head to a stock 650, the valves hit each other , thinking the cam must be a Dunstall as well?

Luckily I have the not as common genuine from the 70's pieces. And if funds allow the PD big valve head.

I ended up using a combat head. The PD head deal fell thru. So it will end up being an 810 Combat with the parts I have.

Now that the frame is done, I had a chance to assemble a bunch if the completed parts.
It's now a roller and really starting to take shape. The pile of parts that need attention is dwindling.
