I am trying to make a bearing splitter with a harbor freight tool to remove the inner race. I don't want to damage the spacer inside the race thats against the crank. I cant find this part on any parts drawing so I can't replace it if I damage it.

Thanks, Brian

Agree. That is part of the race. I bought a clamshell bearing splitter from Autozone that is sharp enough to get behind that lip and got the inner races removed. It was $50 but if the Commando goes well I've got an Atlas quagmire waiting, so figured the tool would come in handy.

The protrusion that is right at the tip of the arrow is part of the crank.

Ooops, sloppy with my arrow. I see it now. I was trying to fit the bearing splitter between what appeared to 2 parts.

I am sure you will (or did) but heat the inner race on the crank to expand it at removal and at installation of the replacement to avoid damage to the journal surface.
A hot air gun is enough.
