Yes, Megacycle states the 560-00 requires radiusing the followers, which they do at a fair price.Radius the followers?
Part of Kenny's reason for retiring VR was having significant warranty expense returning OIF bikes to remote/standard oil tank configuration, and repairing damaged engines. (he told me this personally)I believe Kenny Dreer used OIF on his 880 bikes.
My post was a suggestion that he did this… which he later confirmed he already had done…!Yes, Megacycle states the 560-00 requires radiusing the followers, which they do at a fair price.
Why, what was the issue that the OIF configuration caused ?Part of Kenny's reason for retiring VR was having significant warranty expense returning OIF bikes to remote/standard oil tank configuration, and repairing damaged engines. (he told me this personally)
Various. Oil starvation in certain modes was the worst. Inadequate flow and debris were other issues. Why, what was the issue that the OIF configuration caused ?
Sale description for Gene's Hot Rod Norton says he installed a Pazon ignition. That may have fixed the misfiring, but descriptions says he never got a chance to take it for a test ride. Whatever the case, it wouldn't take much to make it work as Gene intended it to.Gene and I had some behind the scenes conversations about the hot rod.
A buyer should be aware that he struggled with dialing in the carburetion and timing for some reason he may or may not have had time to resolve. Checked my PMs and it doesn't appear that he resolved it before passing. He may have posted a thread where he said he had figured it out, but I'm not looking to buy a Norton so if you are interested in the green you got to do your own research. I did not read his for sale info either. Maybe he mentions whether or not he was having issues
I know this may raise hackles, but I suggested he replace the TriSpark with a Boyer he had. The symptoms he described were very similar to what happens while a TriSpark ignition is trying to make up it's mind to fail completely. Yeah, I know many experts have never had a problem with TriSpark, and I believe you, but I have. It could have been his carburetion or custom built exhaust as well that was causing some of it. But his engine was misfiring and stalling on test rides and he asked me what I thought about it.
Gene had it at the Gathering of the Nortons in Frenchtown 2024 and it started easily and ran well enough to get from display area to trailer parking .Sale description for Gene's Hot Rod Norton says he installed a Pazon ignition.
