EV drawbacks

If you look at old pictures from India you’ll notice many trees in the towns and cities with many tree lined streets.

This was to proved shade, both for people and the streets and buildings.

They knew then that the heat stored in streets and buildings would radiate back and increase temperatures in towns.

Goodness knows why we don’t do more of it today.

I think I know. After college I worked in a Steel Mill in Illinois. Southern Illinois has almost no trees - I lived surround by corn. I was to visit Virginia. Driving through Illinois, basically no trees. through Indiana some trees, more trees in Ohio, then in Pennsylvania it was essentially driving in a forest. All Interstate highways. Then you turn south through Maryland and all trees. Then around the beltway into Virginia, all trees. then south on I95, all trees to my destination. Almost no buildings seen since the latter half of Ohio.

Take that trip today - all buildings, almost no trees once you get to Maryland. The growth of the population and therefore the business has caused there to be no room for trees! There are trees in residential areas, but not along the main roads.

US Route 50 from DC to about 25 miles out is close to 100% built out with business and for about 50 miles more it is at least 50% built out. In the early 70s that road had wide spaces between the two lanes and the buildings. When they expanded it to 6 lanes they also put two service lands on each side - it basically became a 10-lane road inside the DC beltway. Most of the businesses remained, but now they were right next to the road and nowhere to put the trees back that used to be there.

In the 70s I flew from Virginia to Arizona many times at night. There were LARGE areas where you saw no lights or minimal lights once you got away from DC. The last time I did that, there were no dark areas. On the east coast today from Richmond Virginia to Manchester New Hampshire from the air it looks like a single city! Actually, from Miami to at least New Hampshire it looks like at least a large town the whole way.

Noisy headlines make for good scare tactics but bad science. The headlines are driven by scenario RCP8,5 which when developed had a 1% probability of outcome and assumed no technical improvements and business as usual on CO2 emissions with an increase of coal burning of 6 times the then current levels. With reductions in Western economies of coal burning since RCP8.5 was developed that is now an impossibility but somehow RCP8.5 survives.

RCP8.5—the most commonly used RCP scenario and the one said to best represent what the world would look like if no climate policies were enacted—represents not just an implausible future in 2100, but a present that already deviates significantly from reality.

Senior officials of the United Kingdom have raised suspicions that electric cars imported from China to help hit net zero targets in the country are being used by Beijing to gather information on Britons, The Telegraph reports, citing government sources.

Technologies embedded in China's vehicles could be used to "harvest huge amounts of information," including locations, audio recording and video footage, and make cars vulnerable to remote interference and even being disabled, sources believe.

The concerns have been exacerbated by the rapid penetration of Chinese electric vehicles into the country's market ahead of a ban on new gasoline and diesel vehicles in 2030, the report says.

ARE WE SUPPOSED TO PANIC ? German weather report shows totally normal summer temperatures as BOILING HOT, climate change induced developments.

Remember, these people believe taxing your "carbon footprint" helps alleviate it all. 👍

Those ARE high temps that far north! There is almost no A/C in the country.

According to the BBC:

“One of Europe's highest ever temperatures is possible for Monday (24th zjily) in Ramacca, Sicily; 48C! The European temperature record currently stands at 48.8C"

If you google 'Temps raising twice as fast' you will find that nearly all continents are warming twice as fast as the global average. Well its not surprising as land masses absorb heat faster than the oceans and the oceans are 2/3rds of the globe. So the land in general is warming faster than the global average.

Its called Cherry picking.

Makes good sence 🙃
Ministers have admitted to felling close to 16 million trees to make room for wind farms on public land after the Scottish government plans to get all of its power from renewable energy this year.

Mairi Gougeon, the Rural Affairs Secretary, conceded that around 15.7 million trees have been cleared since 2000 from areas presently managed by Forestry and Land Scotland (FLS). The figures equate to over 1,700 trees felled daily, in what critics have described as a hypocritical eco-crusade.

Well I stand corrected about the change in how temperature is gathered for the BBC nightly unbiased news and weather report
And how long did you spend searching this out? 😄😄😄😄🤣🤣🤣🤣

Weather is measured daily, Climate is trends over 30 years.

Just as a single cold record is no signifier of climate neither is one record warm temp.

The first 1996 IPCC report models predicted 0.3C temp increase per decade, the latest one says the same. However the real tempretures over the last 30 years stubbornly stuck to a gentle warming of 0.18C per decade.

So the hypothesis of the IPCC remains unproven and in fact needs throwing out and rewritten.

I think that disproven, not unproven.
