This started out to be a "Make a runner" job. It needed the frame to be welded and a few other things. When we got the tank off the back bone of the frame had been bent upwards. Now we were into a much bigger job! The upshot is that I still have the bike on my lift. Jim has spent a lot more money and now it is all going back together.
The swing arm pivot braces are my own creation with the 1/4-28 threads in the split collar as well as the pivot tube.

Here are the seat loop braces. I have the Old Britts ones on my bike but they tore out from using them for tie down points. These ones are .100 4140 and I don't expect any trouble.

Never thought I would need one of these (impact driver) on a Norton. Short memory for sure. And, I'll probably go back together with torx hardware in those two holes

While this bike is in this state, take the time to drill the cradle for the updated center stand. You can add it later when you get tired of wrestling with the current one.

I am too!!

I have fond memories of working on my P11 in that shop. Motorson was very patient with me cluttering up his bench and scattering his tools around!

I had already taken the rods off and the crank apart before looking for the crub screw-ish mark on the piston. I went out to look and there is nothing there! Must have been a grease spot or something. Perfectly round in the photo though so I don't know what it was.

What's the plan? Stock type internals? What about the valves?

The head was done by Jim Comstock along with the cylinders. The head got the full treatment with guides, exhaust inserts and spark plug inserts!
