Had a pair of these on the bike for a few years now, been bullet proof.

Petcock Leak

They are from EuroJumbalya;s webstore...sold as "BAP-Style" petcocks, so unsure on actual maker.
Today, after prepping bike out of winter hibernation & fueling tank yesterday, I discovered one petcock is seeping fuel, apparently from around the bolted on faceplate. Anyone know if there is a replaceable seal/o-ring under the faceplate on these? Will run down the fuel level before whipping them off for further investigation. I have another tank (HiRider) I can fit or just swap on the petcocks from HiRider to Roadster currently on bike.

That type of tap normally has a disc-shaped seal that can often be reversed to provide a new flat surface to the lever.

You may be able to tighten the retaining screws a bit, but my advice is to strip the taps and highly polish the face which bears on the seal washer.(hopefully its not torn). It will look something like this...

Interesting. I did try giving the two bolts a nip up but no change in sealing. Need to get the fuel out of my tank to check into these. Will report back what I find out. BTW, the vendor (EuroTrash site) got back to me within minutes of emailing him about this issue. Unfortunately he does not know of a source for seals. So if failed, I guess they'll be scrap...

As L.A.B. mentioned you may be able to reverse the seal. I reckon its a good idea to move the taps every now and again over the winter layup, as the seals possibly stick then tear slightly when moved for the first time.

Also here...

A good video showing the inner workings...

Good little video from that Lawnmower lady.

Looks like these seals are available in various sizes so ordering will have to wait for my dissection to assess what is needed. The Reserve side tap is not showing leaks, so I'm gonna just run it a few days off that tap to drop the fuel level. I only have a 5L jerry can and don't fancy doing lots of drain & dump into car tank cycles.

Yes, she's pretty good eh?

You never know after a couple of uses the weep may stop.

I always turn both taps, starting with the reserve on initial start.
After start up, turn the reserve off. This exercises the tap and keeps fresh fuel running through it.

Tornado,
I like these petcocks and have used them for many years. The only problem I ever had was hard turning on one side. I just took the 2 screws out and put a dab of grease on the inside of the plate.Worked fine and no problems since.

I'm such a forgetful numbnuts I'd probably forget to turn the reserve back off and run it dry.

The Bing style has a flat washer and is reversible.
The BAP petcocks have raised rubber bosses on one side and are not reversible.
If yours are "BAP style", and does not say BAP on the body, you will need to open them up and see.
Let us know what you find. Perhaps BAP knockoffs are to be avoided.

Original genuine BAP taps are fine. The clones seem to be harder to turn and eventually the rubber gets abraided and game over. Maybe modern petrol does not help the issue. AN used to offer them, I think in fact they preferred them but a quick look at their page didn't show any.

Edit: found at AN , but they look like clones and likely are at such a reasonable price:

Ok all apart.

Seal measures 21mm x 1.8mm. No significant embossing but what looks like a slightly raised edge around periphery, likely just from deformation.

No lumps, roughness, scratches on contact surfaces of tap.

Will try to order in fresh seals.

Btw, the other taps i've swapped over from my hirider tank are labelled Paioli, made in italy and look to be identical design as these but with black plastic taps. Longer tap handles meant I needed to cut off the reserve side handle bc it would hit tank edge before reaching fully open position. Other side opens downwards for no issue.
Both these BAP's and Paioli's purchased from EuroJumbaalya some 4-5 yrs ago.

I have sheared one these taps off in the past with my hamfisted attempt to get the tap level with the tank

Having trouble finding a source for 21mm diameter 4 hole seals. Seems to be a common seal type on Yamaha/Honda/Suzuki but on-line suppliers typically want a part number or bike year/model and do not show seal dimensions.
