With Old Britts closing down where are the US guys sourcing their parts?

there are others, just none with the robust web interface that Old Britts have. Maybe they could sell that to the heirs apparent.

My order from Andover shipped today via Royal Mail. I’ll report back when my order arrives. My first order since Old Britts closed. Man, I started on my build a year ago and since then Fair Spares and Old Britts have both closed up. All of the parts I’ve purchased have been with them. New territory for me now.

I use RGM, great service at least pre Covid-19. Haven't ordered parts for about a year.

They had a tightly integrated system with their inventory management solution. While efficient it was home built by Fred and it would be easier these days to buy something off the shelf.

Gonna miss Old Britts.

I recently tried The Bonneville Shop, ordered two Commando front fender stays, same part number. Parts were not alike and neither one fit.

Looked at Commando Specialties but couldn’t find the parts I wanted. Statement on website is ‘call us for parts availability and price’. Really? Don’t think so.

Looked at CBS, Classic British Spares. Looked ok but no one I know has bought from them. Maybe I’ll try. Any recommendations?

As far as buying from the UK, haven’t done that in years. Was always a disaster. Bought stuff from Unity (hopefully no longer in business) they charged my Visa for ‘parts on backorder’ and never delivered. Never. RGM was bad for me too. Received parts from them not even close to as described. Also bought from Mick Hemmings and Fair Spares, pretty much same story there too.

I ordered a commando gear box outer cover from Old Britts a couple of years ago. Ella called me (phone!) to tell me she had two covers, new, but neither was in very nice condition, didn’t recommend buying, so I didn’t. Who does that?

Like I said, gonna miss Old Britts.

I've ordered some BSA stuff through CBS-Classic British Spares- but nothing Norton yet. Good honest service and fast shipping.
Yes I have a fair number of Norton bits from CBS, at least in the before time when borders were open. They are not a full parts list type of shop, but do have a number of good, useful parts. EuroJumbalya is also a similar outfit in USA.

Walridge and Moto Import Parts (motopartsinc.com) are my main suppliers here in Canada.

Second of two orders arrived today via Royal Mail from the UK to Portland, Oregon USA. Both in about 7 days. Compared to 5 days from some place in Iowa to Oregon and shipping costs were about the same.

I will again mention VINTAGE TRIUMPH SUPPLY in New Bedford, MA. He bought COMMANDO SPECIALTIES and has been good to deal with. His service was very good and the price on the kickstart shaft as good or better than anyone else's. I would buy from him again. He was recommended to me by two other people.
By the way, now would be a good time to buy some spares from OB if they still have them. I see a lot of things are coming up as "out of stock".

I just got a pair of valves & guides and some other bits from Old Britts, and Ella tells me they still have PLENTY of stock.

No reason to stop buying from them, till they actually close!
(which could be a good while, they've talked to several people about a complete sale and it ain't happening soon)

I'm crossing my fingers that they stay open until the border opens up as I want to order their UK handlebar. They are the only source I am sure of that is the correct one for the 850 Master Cylinder fitting correctly. They will not ship to Canada.

Finally received my order today. Three days to get to the US (Chicago) and eight days from there to my door. Chicago is probably two and a half hours from my house. So there it is.

The American shippers must be snowed under with work?. . . . . . . .

Australia wins the 'delay once there' have known it to take 3 weeks when their customs decide to 100% check all parcels. The parcel actually got there in 5 days from UK.
The US is a lottery, some arrive door to door in less than 72 hours, and being urban or rural doesn't seem to make a difference it seems.
