Leaking Fuel Line Fitting

I was geting a little wearing from the petcock area. I suspect I have a suspect.

There's a definite step on the bevel. As this part is aluminum it's not going to stand a chance against the petcock.

While there is a bevel on the petcock opening there's also a rim that is cutting into the aluminum.

Has anyone run into this before? Do you just get new fuel lines? I don't think that part is available separately.

They are available separately from EBay in the U.K., but if you have access to a pillar drill or lathe just pop it in and carefully use a fine file to remove the step, taking care to retain the correct taper angle.

If I was working to a budget I'd consider hand lapping them with solvol or similar, but replacements are out there...

Will the brass last longer than the aluminum?

I'm tempted to get the MkIII fuel line set up as I hate the H setup.

Cliffa beat me to it. If that doesn't work, I've got a selection of leftover fuel line spigots. Appropriate social distance at the corner of Skyline and Germantown. Be a shame to hold up your bike dying at stops issue.

I hate when that happens.

Same problem. Some of the taps esp as illustrated seem to be harder to seal. Those taps have good sealing for
the fuel flow but not the fuel line attachment. And those taps can be very easy to snap off when tightening down...esp on the tank side. Suspect bogus copies of the real thing.

Are the fuel line fittings BAP or aftermarket? No, I believe they are original, but I have no way of telling after 50 years.
