Not good news from Peter Williams:
Peter is very ill and already a few weeks in the hospital.
He is a fighter and he will win again, but if you can mail him a few words do it please.

Thanks for posting this info , suspect to most members , like me PW is the genuine article .... a true sportsman ,engineer and Norton Hero !

Keep those "Wagon Wheels" rolling.

Card on it's way.

Thanks again Yves.

He's been getting a lot of attention via my John Player Norton group on fecebook.

Great guy, and not an exaggeration that he is a legendary standard-bearer for Norton.

Do you have an email address for sending ecards?

I only heard this yesterday from our Velo club. I will try to see him as he is welcoming visitors. I met him at John Hudson's house in Pudset 30 years ago when I was racing a TZ350G. He signed my Commando brochure.

I met him on the IOM several years ago at a Norton get-together. Really nice guy and very willing to talk to folks. I have a signed T-shirt. Sadly I can't wear it because the signature would come off in the wash. ;)

Any knowledge of why he is in the hospital?

Thank you Yves for that info, I will send a postcard tomorrow , hope he will recover soon.

Myeloma I believe.
I've been lucky enough to meet him on a few occasions and attended a couple of his interviews hosted by Jim Reynolds.
A nicer bloke I have yet to meet.

FastFred, did you manage to get to see PW?

Cheers,

cliffa.

I have read a fair bit about Peter's work with Nortons. With the knowledge of hindsight, it is much easier these days. I will try to write to him.

Good news about Peter. Also noted in the newsletter, Andover Norton have purchased all the remaining stock of Peters book “Designed to race”

Cheers,

cliffa

Yes, I enjoyed the book. I bought a copy from him a few years ago at the Stafford classic bike show.
