Hi,

Thinking of fitting an oil pressure gauge. Has anybody installed this kit from Margo? https://www.morgo.co.uk/product/morgo-universal-oil-pressure-gauge-5/

I think this uses the push on/snap on type connector with plastic tubing.

Any kits supplied in Europe with better fittings?

I’ve searched this forum for all things concerning oil pressure gauges but didn’t see any kits mentioned from UK/Europe?

Yep, I have the Holland norton works on 2 bikes. It fits to the cylinder head with a supplied double banjo. Works really well, it is a neat fit. It comes with an oversize stainless bracket plate. Judicious use of hacksaw, drill and file makes a neat set up. I have mine bolted via handle bar clamp. I have seen them attached without modifying the bracket plate except for drilling a hole and it looks tat. That's on the commando, I have one on my Seely race bike, initial oil pressure with the R40 is a bit high which might cause problems, we will see. If required you can reorientate so the numbers on the dial are correct to look at by adjusting stainless hose. Would make sense if you had it in hand and we're offering it up. Bit more expensive.
I initially installed due to installing an anti sump device!! It has saved me once when my bike was consuming loads of oil and I forgot to check the oil before heading off.

Appreciate the reply, good to get some feedback on the HNW kit

I saw that Morgo set up first and bought Marlin, we do not have the high import taxes though.

Yep, it’s a heck of a sting, they get the price of the item add import charges + add the shipping costs then charge 23% on the total price!

I’ll have another look at the Marlin gauges

I just grabbed a gauge from the local performance shop ($25 I think), ordered 18" braided oil line with a banjo fitting on one end ($30)... and voila!

Appreciate the reply. Unfortunantly we don't, in Ireland, have a handy performance shop (at least I'm not aware of one!). Because we are such a small country & the biking community is only a very small percentage of the population it's difficult to get anything other than the basics for biking.

I have made up braided brake lines before, so it should be a project I can tackle, thanks for the suggestion, I'll put it on my 'list'

Yes but Ireland is stupendously beautiful.
Until I visited there, I thought I knew what a green landscape was. I was ignorant. Ireland is GREEN!

Very, very true, it's all the rain we get:rolleyes:

Andy, appreciate the reply & link. I'll look into their gauge.

Just had a quick look at their site, are the fittings 'push fit' style? and is the oil line plastic? Any problems with leaks from your setup?

Yes the fittings are push fit and the oil line is plastic with a protective sleeve - but I've had zero leaks to date. Over 2 years in use.
I thought the setup was good value for money. All fitted together easily and guage illuminates fine.
Happy customer.

Great, thanks for the feedback

Just found another kit from HNW.

Need to scroll down, it’s near the bottom.

Anybody running this kit?

no but you can still get very neat looking Smiths gauges.. You then need another double banjo and you can push the narrow bore tubing to the P.G. inside the pipe from the BJ...seal it woth araldite or if you must a small bore clip. Mine has worked well since the mid 70s

The longer banjo screw and washers is really what I need. Everyone seems to really mark up the gauge prices.
