Rough running.
Rough running.
Rough running.
Rough running.
The last two times riding my Domi I’ve been getting popping and backfiring during deceleration.
It idles fine, runs so so on acceleration, but the popping and backfiring during deceleration was getting worse.

When I would ride it for a few miles, shut the bike off and restart after a fuel fill up for example, it would run great and no popping or backfiring during deceleration.

Well, today I was on my way home and when I came in my garage to clean my bike I noticed a small oil trail coming from the cam sensor. The 6Mx1.0 bolt is stripped out!

I had a 6Mx1.0x15mm bolt to use instead.
Lucky the hole is deep enough and tapped. I cleaned the threads with a tap and all is good.

On another note, is this oil bottle level normal for 550 miles? First time I emptied it.

I was told to expect the bottle to want emptying around the 2k mile marker but mine filled around 1800 miles. Given that each bike is going to behave a little different then I would say that yours looks ok, but keep an eye on it. Mine seems to be adding less oil now as I clock up the miles.

That’s pretty good. That’s only a 30 ml bottle so about 15 ml in 550 miles is good. And you have done high speed runs on this correct ? So in light of that I would say it is very good ! Was the cam position sensor backing out ? Did that cause your rough running ?

I clean my bike after each ride and look over everything. I notice oil streaming from the cam sensor. I went to snug up the screw and as soon as I put the Allen wrench on the screw head, the screw moved ( loose ) I then removed it with my finger tips. The screw is fine but the crank case has the first 2 screw stripped out. I was a bit unhappy.
I ran a tap to clean up the threads and lucky enough the hole is deep enough for the longer screw.
It ran great after the repair, but the true test will be the next first ride of the day.

I wonder if there is enough room for a heli-coil ? Bring it right back to 6mm x 1 pitch .

My oil bottle is about 3/4 full at 1800 miles. Was serviced at about 600 miles so 1200 miles use. I keep my oil at about half way up the knurled dip stick. Any more than this results in more oil in the bottle doesn't it. Its a pig to get at, if I cut the cable tie to release the bottle, I know its going to be several hours and skinned scraped knuckles getting one back on. Found a syringe but no needle so going to have to hunt for one with.

Yep.
It’s just behind the front wheel. All kinds of room.
Right now I still have about 11-12mm worth of good thread depth, it’s secure now and not going anywhere.

I have no trouble getting the bottle in and out . I don't cut the zip tie , just work the bottle out and push it back in when empty. Very simple. The key here is don't cut that zip tie , just reuse it over and over . Works good.

Sorry your cam sensor thread stripped out. You're not the only one. When I changed it to a genuine Bosch sensor, I installed it and the bolt snugged up fine. Mind you, I'm using a small 3" long hex key and not really wrenching on it. I forgot if the O ring was on it, so I took it out. Second time...spin.....I put blue Loctite on it but it's still stripped. Fortunately, it snaps in there pretty snugly. I'll get around to a longer screw eventually. No running issue due to that so far. No oil trickle either.

Mine also had blue locktite on the threads. The factory needs to use a longer screw or tell Goober to not over tighten the screw.
