Hello all, new owner of a '71 Roadster!! I've always eyeballed the Nortons at bike shows and told myself "one day". Well one day finally happened! I had to go few miles outt'a state but I got me one. 14,00 miles on it and no rattles or smoke and shifts fine. A lil' rusty n crusty but nothing I can't fix. I'll be by here to ask all sorts of ridiculous questions.;)

Ugh.. hate pic hosting sites. I REALLY got screwed when Photobucket did everyone dirty.

Clean enough for her age. Just needs a little scrubbing & some perfume and she's ready for prom night.

Might want to check out the fine research done on oil here, if you haven't done so already. The documentation has made me a convert.

Looking good. The ape hangers are not my style, but easy to change, or not, if you like them. And the low mileage is a plus. Should give you many happy (and maybe a few frustrating) hours of "fettling". Welcome to the forum.

Ken

Looking good. You're going to have a fun time working on that bike, I'm in the home stretch with my rebuild now and I'd love to do another one. Enjoy.

Shouldn't be too big of a project, loved the fact it was low miles and pre disc brake. Seems like everything in the garage has drums front and rear. Yea......the hippie handle bars are going in the scrap bin. Debating between the low Factory Euro bars and Supper Bars. Already picked up the rest of the factory air filter assm (used but with a K&N full size filter) some Halcyon bar ends (for half price!), and got the factory manual, parts manual and service sheets & updated my Tetanus shots.

Oh, and it came with Vintage KONI shocks installed. :) (it's the little things in life that make me happy)

I went to three Jefferson Airplane concerts where they performed White Rabbit....they sang about the Men On The Chessboard, and Feeding Your Head and what the Door Mouse said. Grace was hot, but she never sang about death awaits us all.

Nice find on the bike.

Great find!

Not sure if it’s just the photo but it looks like it’s got the muted peashooters, if so you might wanna change them.

“Shouldn’t be too big of a project”... oh how I chortled when I read that...!

Welcome to the forum bike looks great
The ht leads are very long and just incase you don't know your choke is on in that photo
Read up as much as you can about these bikes
One thing a lot of new owners do is pump grease into the grease nipples on the swing arm ,they actually take oil not grease
Cheers

Wrong "white rabbit".

White rabbit is my nick name and my old call sign when I was in the Army.
Yep, the HT leads are destined for the bin too. I didn't realize there was a "muted" version of those pea shooters. Guess I'll put 'em on my Christmas list. :D

The joy of polishing aluminum! Welcome. I've learned a lot here. Use the search function to ask a question first. There has been years of information on all things Norton. Oil thread is worthy of a dissertation

It'll probably run VR1 racing oil 'cause I use that **** in everything. :D (1962 R60/2, 1970 XLCH, 198? Dnepr MT16 and some other odd ball junk running around here) ;) Mothers Mag Polish & I have an intimate relationship already.
