1974 Mk 2, matching numbers 3083xx. Title reads 1973, as seen on the headstock data plate.

Current mileage 39548, purchased locally in Sacramento with fried wiring in about year 2000. Mileage as seen on title dated 2007 was 36064. Currently registered and insured. Kickstart only.

All local work done under the guidance of (the late) professional CHP MC mechanic Steve Payne; all engine work done by Phil Radford, now retired from Fair Spares in California.

This is Not a frame-off restoration with powder-coat. Many “issues” have been addressed, including:

Swingarm bushings reamed, fitted with oversize pivot spindle, and double-pinned with threaded cradle.

Both wheels rebuilt with Buchanan stainless spoke kits. Front disc drilled. Rebuilt caliper with stainless hose. Sleeved MC? I can’t remember now.

Rebuilt forks on straightened stanchions and replacement top & bottom yolks.

One-piece rear axle from Madass. Pazon ignition.

Replaced over the years: electrical harness, rotor & rectifier, header pipes and crossover tube, “euro” handlebars, kickstart lever, ignition switch, grabrail, inner primary cover, seat cover on re-shaped foam, turn and stop lenses, hoses and fuel lines, headlamp ears and headlamp, side- and center- stands, petcocks, carbs from Burlen with hard-anodized slides. Crankcase breather. Adjustable (vernier) engine mounts (“Isolastics”) as seen on the final model. Ikon shocks. Maybe a hundred receipts. Brand new battery.

Cylinders bored .020 over, new pistons, rings, etc. Head completely re-done (new valves, springs, collets), both jobs by Phil Radford.

Front indicators moved down from original position at headlamp level.

Despite much effort, the primary leaks a little, as does the engine and rear tire. Non-original paint and minor dents in the tank and side covers. The bottom fin of the left-side barrel is chipped at the rear. Non-stock K&N airbox. PO had fitted an Italian dual air horn and tiny compressor into the battery box, which is still there (and works) and serves to keep the battery in place. Working oil pressure gauge and warning light.

Comes with many tools, many spares (including a never-installed CNW headsteady), and several books.

The license plate frame is Not included.
