After reading several posts concerning this mod I decide to give it a try. My bike already has the correct breather hose , perhaps part of the CNW oil tank mod.

I know several people have opined that mounting it close to the case will eliminate condensation sludge from building up in the valve. I am going the opposite route mounting the valve as far as I can from the case and having the inlet pointing down to allow drainage back to the engine case. You can see the breather hose behind and below the EGR valve.

There seems to be plenty of room behind the side cover to allow mounting options.

I mounted mine AS HIGH AS POSSIBLE, right on the backbone, because mayonaise needs to drain away. JMWO.

That's where mine is. Only 1000 miles, or just under, since I did it. No sign of mayonnaise in my oil tank or the end of the pipe that comes from the oil tank (in my case, routed to the back of my swingarm). My mk3's starter motor makes siting the valve lower, a bit tight. So, I've decided I will leave it where it is and check the valve itself in early spring. If no sign of condensation after winter riding, should be good to carry on.

I'm really pleased with the mod.

Mayonnaise a lot of people doin' this.
