I am fairly certain these taps are the original off my 69 'S'. But I disclaim any positive notion. I had 5 of them because I bought 3 extras early on because they leaked like crazy. I'm hoping with the new o-rings I put in them they will be good, but no promises. I found some good gas-proof o-rings at the auto store that fit and the old ones were cracked all over the place, so we will see. I have no idea how the flow compares to anything else.

Go for the BAPs and you will never have a leaky tap again. I have learned the hard way on many bikes trying to fit different kinds of taps. Most are junk. They all leak except BAP and can ruin your paint and cause a fire. BAPs are the only taps that I have found to be 100% reliable.

The O-ring should stop fuel leaking out around the lever, but it won't do anything to stop fuel slowly draining through the tap if the seating is worn, and the one in your photo appears to be quite badly worn judging by the concave shape?

The "original" type tap seating on the right of my photo appears to be in reasonable condition-until it is examined closely, when the fine scoring which allows fuel to leak around the cone can be seen.

Lapping the two parts with fine metal polish or paint cutting compound (such as T-Cut) can sometimes effect a partial cure, although personally, I tend to regard fuel taps as disposable items with a reasonably limited lifespan, and as they are reasonably cheap, once they become troublesome it's not usually worth the time and effort to try to repair them.
 
I have the BAP taps on my 1968 Fastback. The taps were leaking a bit so I took them apart. Inside there is a rubber disk with raised rubber spigot that help seal the valve, depending on whether it is on, off, or on reserve. The spigots were a little chewed from the valve sliding past them. Does anybody know if you can just buy replacement rubber disks? This is the only part that wears and it would be nice to just keep the old ones going.

I just installed BAPs. The handle turns up to open instead of down, but I have adapted pretty fast. The screens unscrew from the body easily and I found that the main tap has a small diameter plastic tube inside it. I was concerned that it wouldn't deliver enough fuel. Upon testing the flows (unmeasured) the flow from the main was noticably less than the reserve. I have since tried really hard to starve the bike for fuel running on the main tap only and have failed completely to do so!
