Been thinking of a global meet-up. 2013 would be 115 years of Norton, though there's enough history to probably find an anniversary every year.
Location? UK, Aussie or Stateside, elsewhere? Well UK is the home of Norton, although it has had US owners? States might have the most owners and might be more 'central'.
If we could get enough people interested, might be able to do package deals?
What do you think? Too expensive? Crazy? Not feasible?
Come on, I reckon it would be a blast, and other countries could take turns in hosting - perhaps every 5 years?

I was thinking of members of this forum Swoosh, people I'd like to meet I s'pose, but if similar activities are already going on...
Was just an idea. Back to work now.

Why not have it in Milwaukee, WI, USA, We have the Harley Museam, Sunset Motors is close, Morries place is'nt too far away, and we have Beer, lots of beer
There are allready 2 or 3 of us here so it's a start.

I voter Eureka Springs Arkansas which hosts continent wide rally for WV, Corvettes, Model T, Miata, Hell's Angles and about every speicialized brand or type of motorcycle down to the small thumper off road clubs. A close 2nd in distance and location for riding any direction for hours and grining is the "Hub" next to Lil' Abner's Dog Patch that is dedicated grounds or rather parking lot and hotel/camping for cycles. i get notes left on my SV650 sitting out to come joint the fun when that bunch shows up. Then there's Hot Springs which is a casino and party place also crowded by cycles galore.

This is where the cross country rally of cycles made before 1920 had their main gathering at.

Texas is sorta central to the US and has great hill country riding...

Barber's in Alabama is a world-class facility well worth meeting at, during the AHRA race weekend would be best.

Excellent! I need a hand to put the engine back in the frame!
Might have to pitch tents in the park next door though...

I'll bet Mr. Slark could produce a list of the Nortons on display at the Barber museum, with directions to each; that would be pretty cool...

I am with you on this. as a friend once told me " roughing it is a holiday inn without cable"

Hell, I could do that.

the issue at Barber's is its grown to such size of attendance and scale of the grounds 500 Nortons would be lost diluted in the crowd and goings on, so would have to miss a lot of Barbers events to have any club group activities till well after dark. Barber
is its own mutlti storm weather system worth it all on it very own even w/o a bike tagging along. Dave's home sure sound like a winner so far.

Why not make it coincide with the Norton rally in Vermont next summer :?:

PS Texas is only central to people suffering from bellybuttonitis which just happens to be a desease common to ALL residents of Texas (sorry GP  )

Though I'm actually a native Miami Fla cracker I did 25 yr in Texas to know you should not ask someone where they come from If they are from Texas you'll soon know it and if they ain't - you shouldn't embarrass them. Austin or San Antonio stand out for city of interest but there's the Lake of The Pines event that too far away from a real city to count or accommodate much motel people. Now if at Big Bend area you can hold WOT for hours on end to get from one site to the next.
