I have all the electrics sorted, everything works but I have 4 wires that I can't identify. I can't fine them on the wiring diagram. Anyone know what these are for. I'm aware of the wires used for interpol circuits, these don't seem to show up there.

2 white red (or pink)

1 white slate, 1 white red (or pink)

One of the white red wires is the same wire or in the same circuit as the white red wire at the rear of the bike.
Thanks for your help.

Is that ss3aw (solid state warning light unit) part of the situation or is it just there to confuse us?

Sorry Pete, no, the wires have nothing to do with the ss3aw.

The white and red wires are for the starting circuit that your motorcycle never had. There should also be a white and purple wire grouped with the white and red wire that is under the seat area. The white and red wires come from the starter switch and energize the starter relay that was never on your motorcycle. The white and purple wire would have been the ballast resistor bypass.

My best guess - and it is only a guess - is that the white and red wires that terminate under the fuel tank would have gone to a switch built into the clutch cable. The clutch would have needed to be pulled in before the starter motor could be engaged.

Ah, yes. One of the white/red wires goes to the spare button. Your probably correct about the other for the clutch.
Thanks,

Yikes there's a Harley in the background :D My Harley and Norton could never be in the same garage together. They would fight with each other when I turned the lights off. :D

Well spotted, a Hardly Ableson in the background, or is it a Harley Ferguson, the tractor they tried to make a motorcycle out of.

Well, it handles like a tractor, pulls like one, is noisy as one and is fun to ride. Old Ironheads, .......a class unto themselves :)
