I was wondering if the experts in this forum could confirm these rearsets on Ebay will fit my 1974 850 Commando Roadster?

I purchased my first Commando this spring to give my 15 TRIUMPHs company. I don't know much about the fine details of NORTON 850 Commandos but I sure like the way mine pulls up the Adirondack Mountains at 100 mph!

Thanks

Yes. This is a John Tinkle [sp] creation and is what I fit to my Ms Peel.
The peg bolts can replace a bottom bolt of the Z plates. The shifter is pretty straight forward though you lose the gear pointer. The brake side can go on a few ways but I was able to figure out an angle/way to bolt to the Z plate so the factory brake cable has a straight run to the drum lever so no more stress and rubbing from that item. They are easy worth a hundred bux or more, especially un-used as rubbers are a bit hard to source or adapt others. Shifter side folds up to clear kicker.

Yes, I they will work fine, but do not expect that price to hold.

I certainly wouldn't bid over $250, you can get them new for that price.

I don't think Tinkle rear sets made anymore, just more expensive new sets in Al, so if it tickles ya fancy best jump on them or someone else will to enjoy for couple decades more.

I have never been impressed with Dunstall quality. Keep that in mind when looking at something like this.

Hi,
I see that the bids are climbing. I would not be surprized if they go almost up to the price of a new set. Check out what www.clubmanracing.com has to offer, Their set of rearsets is $299.00usd.

Here's only photo I've got of the Tinkle brake rear set installed. I don't think this is the way intended but after long fiddling with it and using only Tinkle parts and the factory rear brake cable it came out perfect for me and gave the straight run of cable. I call this shot 'dust bunny' some from riding, some form recent drops. I most ran shift side w/o the long linkage as just reversed the shift level but liked the long linkage retaining 1dn3up w/o hassle of reverse gear box cam.
