Whoops 2023 Thruxton

I fell in love with a 2016 Thruxton 1200S brought new 2018 new old stock at a greatly reduced price Competition Green, and fairing kit fitted, the first upgrade was put the stock bars back on as the fairing kit lower bars were too low then a Meerkat x-pipe and Meerkat opened up my stock mufflers and a set of Ikon rear shocks.
Jerry you will love it the newer models have a wee bit more HP they feel very light, handle great and perform so well, I have mine set up for travelling and long distant rides, over 5 years now and haven't touched it except for oil changes and tyre changes, I have done a few straight 15hrs in the saddle only stopping for fuel, food and stretch when needed.
So Jerry enjoy your new Thruxton as like me you will love it and with the Norton and Thruxton I have the best of old and new.

Great, can you post a photo of it?
I got a pretty good deal on my Harley. They gave me 500 buck store credit on a promo, that I had to use today. I ordered heated grips and a fly screen.

done 40 miles first 30 in congested traffic. It’s got lots of torque. Taking it easy for first bit. Overall impressed. I feel safer than on Harley, it stops very well.Takes up much less space in the garage. I like that.

After I get a few miles on it this weekend, I will give feedback. My long haul touring days are over for several reasons, it seems like the perfect bike so far.

Thanks for sharing. It’s nice to know there are options for luggage. Triumph have this promo. They said I can spend 500 bucks if I spent it today. I ordered a fly screen and heated grips ( need for here).

I wasn't planning in buying my 2016 Thruxton as I had my new 2013 Thruxton at the time but walking past it everytime I was buying a new oil filter for my 900 Thruxton and taking a R model for a test ride but the old stock 2016 S model the price was dropped $3500 as well it had the fairing kit installed and then I asked today's price and they dropped another $1000, well that did it for me put a deposit straight on it and 2 days later picked it up, they looked after me as I brought my new 2013 model off them, they still look after me with tyres and free fitting cheaper than anywhere else.
Pic of all 3 bikes together the 900 is long gone now as it wasn't been ridden after getting the 1200

The dual comfort seat was bought not long after getting it for the wife but more so for my throw over leather saddle bags the rear foot pegs came off the 900 Thruxton and the saddle bag supports were made by me from 10mm round solid alloy 6m lengths for $6 as well a rack and 24ltr bag fitted, the rack is a Venture rack fits straight on without any mods, I am very happy with this set up and is very comfortable set up for long trips the bag on the back comes in handy for anything, I also have a 45ltr bag for the back but haven't used it was given to me as well the leather saddle bags from a mate who worked at my Triumph dealer who past away last year, RIP Kim.

My 2017 after I'd been "Playing" with it.
I raced for Carl Rosner hence the colour scheme and went for the S, just because I preferred the looks and at A 60mph drive past, it looked similar to the Proddy T150.

I wanted a new Speed Twin with wire spoke wheels, but it was not meant to be...

Good choice , I do prefer A/C twins , while I know they bad for air we breath , can’t help that … good luck with your new 1200 !

Craig I have owned both AC and WC Thruxtons and I can tell you this once I got the 1200 the old 900 just didn't get ridden much after, the 1200s are so much better, they feel lighter when riding handle so much better, a lot smoother and so much more torque, I thought I never like going from a 360 swing too a 270 swing but after a few days I was so wrong the 270 swing is so much better.

How's the new Thruxton going Jerry has it won you over yet.
