Just reworked my clutch cus it seemed to be getting stiffer. Now it's smooth as silk with a very light pull. Basic maintanance & lubrication works wonders! I do need to replace the clutch & speedo cables though and I'm wondering who makes the best quality Teflon or nylon lined cables? I can't remember the brand but the last one I bought for my BSA was a chinsy piece of junk I wouldn't trust on a bicyicle. I don't want one like that here. Any recommendations? Thanks.

Venhill cables in UK.
Will add ease to an already well set up clutch pull.
No lube needed as lined w/ nylon
Mine is very nice. Runs around $32.00 USD.
Last one you'll need.
Stock around $9.00 but be prepared to lube every season.
Barnett cables for carbs/choke cables.
Very well made and smooth as silk throttle pull.
Lubed w/ chain spray and installed.
Grease the tach/speedo cable while at it they dry out and kink.
Erratic needle jump indicates a new cable is in short order.

$9.00??? From whom? And how many years/decades ago? OldBritts' current price "last updated 6/10/10" is $32.52.

venhill had a cable in stock, luckily i only live 10 miles away so i drove down and picked one up
i will be fitting it soon and will see how much better it is than the standard cable, they also made me up a stainless front brake line whilst i waited with the correct ends

friendly small company and as i run a small shop myself i like to buy from places like this

Debbie,
I should have been more clear you will not get a lined cable for $9.00.
NOS asian cables are on ebay for $9-15.00 range.
I chose to go lined and be done with it.
Venhill clutch cables do run $32.00 from most vendors.

Thanks for the info. Lined Venhill it is. I assume not all Venhill cables are Teflon lined as some are sold by the usual suspects on Ebay ( Commandospecialties etc) for around $18.00. They must be unlined. Thanks again gentelmen & lady.

I read throught the listings of Norton cables and didn't see where it said the tach and speedo cables are teflon lined.
I read the 'Featherlite' cables are teflon lined. No mention of 'Featherlite' tach and speedo cables.
Did I miss something?

I don't believe tacho and speedo cables need to be lined?
