UK version of a wife beater is a string vest !!!!

Only in Weegie land, they don't sell them in the East!

A friend has Norton Tattood on his arm, but mainly rides a BMW now.................

That's probably 'cos the east won't part with cash

That's it! I'm getting all Commando part numbers tattooed on my chest (upside down so I can read them) and the '73 wiring diagram on my back.

Now that sounds a lot more sensible....

Ray Bradbury's Illustrated Man takes a whole new meaning

I'm a knob that loves the beauty of my Commando engine :)

You forgot to put a small pool of oil under the engine

I find tatoos cool sometimes, like yours, but I wouldn't have one on me, guess I'm too old. Aged skin isn't a good canvas

If you had to pay a mechanic thousands to adjust your Duc every time you wanted to go riding a tattoo would be nothing in terms of sacrifice.

Looks like a poseur to me. Probably hangs out at Starbucks wearing a wife beater so everyone can see his tat.

I had to laugh at that one. I guess all starbucks are the same. It reminded me of walking into one in the winter to see a guy wearing shorts sitting on the back of a big cushie couch chair with his big boots on the nicely upholstered leather arms, obviously to show off his fresh new tat as you practically walked into it coming in the door. It was too cold for shorts, the cushie couch was too nice to have a big pair of dirty boots parked on the leather arm and if he ever sat on the back of the couch at home like that his mom would have boxed his ears. He did impress the guy in front of me in line who was telling him he was getting one on saturday. When asked "what was he getting" he replied " I dunno, I'm just going to go in and look around and see what they got"

It's one thing to love something or believe in something so much you want to tattoo it on yourself but a lot of people just want to get one. period.

Even if he's a 'knob', I wish I were that thin.

Dave,

You almost look that thin in your avatar. At least we can keep it up for longer - two pipes on the left. that is!

Is there anyone as dedicated to Norton as this fellow is to Ducati :?:

Jean
I am so dedicated that I have actually become like a Norton... If the Ol' lady doesn't ride me once in a while I tend to wet-sump.

Ya got a Tri-Spark ignition under that points cover?

After about a year of having this tatt and looking at it there are a few things that would drive the purists nuts.

I like to think of it as the artists take on a Commando engine. He drew what he saw and he did a bloody good job.

I wish the points cover was rounder looking, and the front rocker bolt was more accurate, and the carb had Amal written on it.... etc.... But.. anyone that sees it knows it's a Commando engine.

Trying to tattoo a three dimensional image onto a three dimensional body is an art in itself :!: :?
