Who is buying all the Kawasaki Mach IV Widowmakers?

I've had a couple of H1s and even got to race one, so I have no need for an H2. They weren't that great anyway as far as handling.

If they weren’t called widow makers, you could probably fetch a nice one for $3k LOL

You're being too nice! They don't handle worth a crap! However, a set of tuned expansion chambers on a H2 and even a big guy like me can barely keep the front wheel on the ground when the on/off switch hits on (comes up on the pipes).

Maybe none are being sold as most have been wiped out from accidents, they call them widowmakers for a reason, when I was 17/18 years old they were building a new highway through a cutting where we rode our dirt bikes, the road had just been bitumen and this section was 3 or 4 km long, a mate was asked to take one for a run along the new section with expansion chambers, I could hear him from a distant getting closer and he had it flat out, ringing its neck, the last bend just before me he came out in a big death wobble at high speed and before he knew it, it spat him off, was well over the ton the bike and himself just slid down the road towards me and he came to a stop down below where I was watching it all happen and the bike was still sliding.
I raced down to him he had blood everywhere from road rash and a broken arm, I helped him up and asked me to help him to the bike where he started to kick the fu cker before taking him to the hospital the owner of the bike live just on that bend in the road and was running towards us, he had a big hole in his left shoulder and wasn't wearing a leather jacket, just jeans, a T shirt but lucky had boots on and a shitful helmet.
47 years later we are still mates and he still has that big scare on his left shoulder that reminds him of that day, it took ages to heal up and he remember the pain he went through when the nurse was scrubbing the gravel out of the wounds, he told me after the accident he tried to power out of the death wobble but it just got worst.

When the H2 Kawasakis arrived, I was still racing my 500cc Triton. One of my mates was riding one. He got on the gas a bit quick coming out of a corner. The rear of the bike whipped around, the tyre grabbed and he got flicked up the road. I would buy an H2 just to have one. I once had a dog which would bite me if I got careless.

Did you bite him back?

When I got out of the army in 1971 my younger brother and his buddy had just bought new H1s as first bikes. My mother had no idea what he'd bought but I talked him into letting me ride it. I kept my reactions to myself and mom never was the wiser but with my severance pay I bought a 750 Honda 4. It would outrun the H1 on the top end and though no roadracer handled way better than the H1, had a disc brake and survived hitting a deer at 85MPH. Yes I was on it.

Yes, but did they have knobby tires? Knobby tires was the key.

The early Z bikes were as bad, or WORSE, but you don't hear people tongue-lashing them to the same degree. You certainly would take the nearest exit ramp if you came upon a grooved highway; that was ASKING for a trip to the ER.

I always found that curious.
