I always enjoyed fishing as a youngster but never took it further due to time pressures etc etc which is a shame but hey you cannot do everything.

Started as a kid line fishing in our local river using a bamboo stick whilst sat on a huge concrete block @ 2 metres cubed just plonked at a bend in the river. Block had such an impact on water flow it caused a still area that eels would flock to it and you’d see them basking in the sun - catching them was easy !

Moved on as a teenager to fishing for trout in another local river though the pickings were somewhat thin ….. spent most of my time shooting rats on the opposite banking - did my bit for vermin control.

Did some sea fishing also and one day whilst line fishing for mackerel ( rowing boat with a seagul engine ) I thought by weight of line I must have caught the whole shoal, turned out I’d caught a shark !

This was the extent of my fishing wish I’d had time for more, great fun.

Happy casting to one and all ! 👍🤠

I used to have a seagull motor and could start it by wrapping hand around the brass flywheel and giving it a flick...Greatest motor in the world if ya not in a hurry...🙂
Years ago I restored a old Kauri Clinker that had a inboard air cooled Villers motor with a straight drive & dog clutch ...wish I had kept it....a real classic if you have plenty of time...

These billfish type trailer boats are good value...Bounty Hunter had the perfect harmonics to bring up the game fish up into the wash...She was like a magnet to steel...seriously
Biggest Marlin we pulled on board the billfisher was a Black at 210 kg...I generally prefer to tag and release...and Tuna are far better Tucker...
