Which is the hotter plug?

Which are the hotter sparkplugs....Champion N3C, or NGK BP8ES ??
Also, what should the proper gap setting be on each type?

I would reckon without looking a conversion table, the NGKBP8ES is the hotter but a little too cold for a Commando.

For a standard Commando? = NGK BP7ES equivalent to Champion N7YC (originally N7Y). The original recommendation was for N6Y (cooler, - NGK equiv. BP8ES), but was later changed to N7Y.

Lower the plug number w/ champion the cooler
Higher the number w/ NGK the hotter the plug.
I use NGK 7's in my combat burns nice

Lower number Champion is cooler.
Higher number NGK is COOLER.
